Dr. Anne Berndl, MD, author of
So, You Want to be a Doctor,
Eh?


Anne Berndl received her MD from McMaster University in 2005 and is currently pursuing specialty training as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology through Dalhousie University. In 2006, she was named “TDr. Anne Berndl, MDop 30 under 30” in Halifax by the Halifax Daily News. She completed a BSc.H. from Queen’s University in 2002, during which she participated in research projects both at Queen’s and though St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. During university, Berndl spent a summer in rural Mexico participating in a cultural emersion program, was a Girl Guide Leader, a member of the Queen’s Dance Club and was an actor in the university production of “The Vagina Monologues.” On weekends, she worked at a foster home for children with disabilities. She also spent a few summers as a host at the Ontario Science Centre, where she lead nature walks and made paper out of elephant dung.

During high school, Berndl took her senior English credit at Oxford University and her senior Science credits at the Ontario Science Centre Science School. She was a member of the Improv team and Debating team, and participated in swimming, cross country and downhill skiing. She took Jazz and Ballet after school.


Anne Berndl was born and raised in Toronto where she spent most of her time catching snakes in her backyard.
